Ni Hao!
As Member of Parliament for Ottawa Centre, I was very pleased to be a part of the Mid-Autumn Festival held at City Hall on the evening of September 18, 2016.
This was a wonderful evening marking some special events taking place in the Chinese-Canadian community in Ottawa.
First of all, I was very happy to enjoy some moon cakes to mark the Mid-Autumn Festival. It was great to be a part of this occasion which brings friends and family together to enjoy a delicious meal and celebrate the season.
It was also a true honour to bid farewell to His Excellency, Mr. Zhaohui Luo, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Canada since 2014. I would like to thank Ambassador Luo for his dedicated service to strengthening ties between Canada and China. I wish Ambassador Luo and Dr. Jiang Yili all the best in their next posting to India.
Thank you to Henry Lu from the Federation of Ottawa Chinese-Canadian Organizations for organizing this wonderful event and bringing together so many community members. I am happy to recognize the Chinese-Canadian community in Ottawa for your contributions to our great city. Thank you for creating families, businesses which have strengthened our community.
As you mark the 67th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China on October 1st, I would like to wish you a happy National Day.
Sincerely,
Catherine McKenna
Member of Parliament for Ottawa Centre
