Ecology Ottawa is inviting anyone interested in learning more about TransCanada Corp’s proposed tar sands pipeline to RSVP to attend this event.
The event will be held in the Auditorium of the Main Branch of the Ottawa Public Library, 120 Metcalfe Street, on Monday, July 15th from 5:30 to 7:30.
TransCanada Corp is proposing to build the Energy East pipeline from the tar sands in Alberta through to New Brunswick. If built, a portion of this pipeline would pass through the west and south end of the City of Ottawa and across the Rideau River. Space is limited, so please RSVP.
Ecology Ottawa has expressed its opposition to this proposal and we have already collected over 1,500 signatures on our petition calling on our elected leaders to help keep the area free of tar sands pipelines. http://ecologyottawa.nationbuilder.com/tar_sands_oil
At the meeting we hope to share information on the proposed pipeline with others, discuss our respective concerns and potential risks, and invite others to join us as we organize around this important issue.
Space is limited, so please RSVP.
